Daily Prompt: Describe a typical day in your life — but do it in a form or in a medium you’ve rarely — if ever – used before. If you’re a photoblogger, write a poem. If you’re a poet, write an open letter. If you’re a travel blogger, write a rant. (These are all examples — choose whatever form you feel like trying out!)
Let’s talk about mornings. Why do our bodies react so badly to the early starts? Well, mine does anyway.
Once I’ve dragged myself unwillingly away from the drowsy warmth of my bed, that’s when my day really starts to get exciting. I munch away on the usual concoction of cereal and milk and the rest is just a blur of clothes and toothpaste, followed by the forty minute walk to college which results in sweating even when the weather is below zero degrees. And then the work commences.
Blah. The pressure for students to get good grades is huge – my teachers don’t stop going on about it. Yet when it comes to their lessons, it seems as though they can’t even be bothered to string one motivating sentence together. Honestly, I’m not the only one that sometimes just thinks ‘what is the point’?!
So after I have trudged back home and enjoyed a rewarding dinner, my evening merges into a night of homework, TV and finally sleep. What I’m trying to say is this: why can’t we break from our routine for once? Why does our life have to be dull when it could be exciting? Just a thought.
P.S. I don’t actually hate my daily routine – I actually quite like it. I was just seeing what it was like to be a ranty writer!
