Daily Prompt: What’s the one piece of advice you wish someone had given you a year (or five, or ten…) ago?

I wish the teachers at my school hadn’t made GCSE exams seem so important. Because this time last Summer, I was stressing out about revision and those As and A*s that most of my teachers expected me to get, and thinking to myself, ‘What it I don’t get them? The end of the world is nigh!’

Turns out that after results day, those good grades and exams haven’t even been mentioned – not at college or anywhere else. I can’t get a job anyway, (my teachers used to say the higher the grades, the easier it is to find a part time job), and at college, as long as you passed enough GCSEs to get in, they really don’t care! My advice would be to work hard but not too hard – they’re really not worth having a breakdown over!
